cosmetic surgery risks

Sometimes money is the root of expensive mistakes.Cosmetic surgery has a low rate of complications among board certified plastic surgeons. However, every surgery carries risk. Be sure to discuss the possible risks and complications with your plastic surgeon so you feel fully informed before surgery.General Risks for Cosmetic Surgery

#Skin Death or Necrosis: usually follows an infection or hematoma and is much more likely among smokers. The skin is excised (surgically removed) and this may affect the cosmetic outcome.
#Asymmetry: moderate or severe asymmetries may require a second surgery. Mild asymmetry is normal.
#Slow Healing: due to age, skin type, failure to follow doctor's advice or factors beyond anyone's control.
#Numbness/Tingling: often temporary, sometimes permanent loss of sensation. This results from injury to sensory or motor nerves.
#Irregularities, dimples, puckers, and divots: can be due to surgeon error, healing irregularities or body make-up.
#Seroma: fluid can collect under the skin and can occur after breast augmentation, liposuction or a tummy tuck.

Just because celebrities are doing something doesn't mean you should jump in and do it, too. Yes, lots of celebrities have had their looks altered by cosmetic surgery, but often you can tell at a glance who got a bad face-lift because their faces have been cut and pulled so tight they look constantly surprised or incessantly half-smiling. Michael Jackson is a classic example of facial cosmetic surgery gone amok, but we've all seen others who seem shockingly unattractive, or strangely altered as a result of having had skin pulled too tight, or overfilled with dermal implants, or Botoxed into an expressionless-looking zombie. A number of famous women have had their chests augmented and enlarged to the point that their breasts seem to enter the room a full minute before they do, or stand out like rocks from the chest, but that doesn't mean you should, too.
Be sure to discuss the possible risks and complications with your plastic surgeon so you are informed before surgery.
